WiFi

Our campus has a 10 Gbps fiber connection to the internet through WiscNet. We have 700 wireless access points, all supporting the 802.11ac standard. This allows us to provide wireless access inside every building. Since we have no access points installed outdoors, we can’t guarantee any level of WiFi support outdoors; however, there are a number of outdoor locations where our indoor signal reaches. This includes some of the seating areas and patios adjacent to buildings (i.e. behind the Campus Center along the Fox River).

Registering Devices

Any device is able to connect to our sncguest network, but you’ll need to register each device that you want to use our snc network. This will be important for any device used in a dorm because the sncguest is not available in any residence hall. Below are some articles on how to register each different type of device.

Supported Devices

Please note that not all devices will work on our network. Due to security reasons, we do not allow devices to directly take to each other on our network. If a device relies on this type of communication to work properly, that will not work on our network. To find out if you device will work, check out this article.

If you need assistance registering or have questions on any device, feel free to reach out to the ITS Service Desk at 920-403-4040 or servicedesk@snc.edu
